Discernment Counseling - Brief Couples Therapy

If you and your partner are struggling to find common ground and feel uncertain about the future of your relationship, discernment therapy may be just the right type of counseling for you.

The advantage of this therapeutic modality is that it is highly focused and brief. In 4 sessions you will assess the current status of your relationship, identify core issues, consider options, and reflect on possible outcomes and their consequences.

Here is a brief description of the process. The first and the fourth session are 90 minutes each. I use the first session to get to know the couple, search for the common ground and establish the points of contention. In the next two 60-minute sessions, I meet with you and your partner individually. I want to give each of you an opportunity to focus on what you deem most important and consequential. In the last joint session, the three of us meet again to summarize, concretize and discuss the next step.

The goal of the discernment counseling is to help you achieve clarity and decide how you want to proceed. There are three most common outcomes. One of them is to end the relationship, the other is to engage in couples therapy, lastly, the couple may choose to remain in the status quo and postpone making any decisions until a later time.

The cost for the 4-session bundle is $1,000. The option of paying for each session separately is also available. The price for each joint session is $350.00 and $175.00 per individual session.

If you have questions about the process or anything else pertaining to your situation, please take advantage of the free 30-minute consultation I offer.

I wish you a swift, amicable, and successful resolution of your current issues!
